- كانت الرغبة في إعداد هذه القائمة مع ازدياد عدد الطلبة الراغبين في استكمال دراساتهم العليا بتخصص العلوم الإشعاعية بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وملاحظة وجود شح في المعلومات وقلة في الخبرات عن طبيعة برامج العلوم الطبية التطبيقية بالولايات المتحدة.
- إن ما يأمله المرء بأن تكون هذه القائمة البسيطة نواة لتفعيل الخبرات التراكمية ، فينقل "السلف" من طلبة الولايات المتحدة القدامى معلوماتهم وخبراتهم إلى "الخلف": الطلبة الجدد الطامحون لإكمال الدراسات العليا بالولايات المتحدة ، فتتجمع الخبرات تراكمياً دون اضطرار الأجيال الجديدة لبدء البحث من نقطة الصفر.
